Within each category the entrant can choose from one of 4 sub categories

  1. Display and Packaging on paper & board - Printed on paper & board, including FSDU, corrugated and in-store displays

  2. Display and Packaging on plastic - Printed on all types of plastics, including plastic banners and backlit film + lenticular sheet, plastic printing on flexible or rigid sheets, including vacuum forming

  3. Posters - Posters, single sheets, multi-sheet billboard and other outdoor advertising formats.

  4. Serigraphies and Fine Art-  Original Serigraphies and Giclée’s and Fine Art reproductions, books, brochures.

  5. Decals and printed labels - Decals, printed labels, fleet marking, window vinyl etc

  6. Creative Special effects – Paper board and plastics - Special effect screen or digitally printed over offset, digital or screen printed images and other innovative applications (i.e. thermochromic, scratch and sniff, glow in the dark, rub-removable and glitter)

  7. Special effect on t-shirts, garments and other textiles - Special effect on t-shirts, garments and other textiles, including embroidery, additions of pearls, metal, circuitry etc

  8. Printed Garments - Screen printing, direct to garment printing, transfers, dye sublimation printing on pre-made garments

  9. Roll-to-roll printed textiles - Pigment, dye sublimation, acid, water-based printing in interior decor, furnishings, (i.e. pennants, banners, tapestries, draperies, other textile products, bags, scarves, ties, etc)

  10. Glass, ceramic, metal and wood products - Glass, ceramic, metal and wood products (eg. tableware, tiles, glasses, mirrors curved and flat, direct printing, decals, glass & ceramic, metal & wood products, signs and objects)

  11. Direct printing on three dimensional products - Direct printing on three dimensional products, bottles, mugs, skis, packaging

  12. Non-printed signage - Channel Lettering, Neon Signs, Sign-writing, Etching, engraving and dimensional signage, acrylics, non-printed vinyl’s etc.

  13. Functional printing - White goods, Automotive, In Mould Design, Fascia’s, Dials, Nameplates, Signs, Gauges etc. Printed electronics; Printed Circuits & Membrane Switches, Hybrid Circuits, RFIDs, Solar cells.

  14. Young Star - This award is separate from the main award entries. The young star award spans across every category and is marked across all the categories. The Young Star category has two sub-categories:

    • Vocational trainee in digital or screen printing – includes apprentices, interns on placements of more than 12 months, industrial trainees and any paid employees in a structured training or development programme. Entrants must include an endorsement from their Manager

    • Student design for digital or screen printing – includes college, graduate or post-graduate students in part or full-time education or those in education embarking on placements of less than 12 months. Entrants must include an endorsement from their educational establishment.

This award is open to those aged 16-25 working as a junior employee or student in any print related discipline.

The winner will pick up a cheque for €1,000 and it’s a great promotional opportunity to show off your skills and add the experience to your CV.

People’s Choice Award

This award is separate from the main award categories in that it cannot be entered directly.  

 All entries will be showcased online and judged by the community between February - March 2019.
